A Healthy Me Update

Okay, so I’m really bad with consistency! I was walking every day and really logging in the miles than old man winter cam with a vengeance and this gal can’t hang in frigid weather, so I hung up my sneakers. But, I’m tired of not working out and I don’t want the weather to determine whether or not I get fit. So, I joined a gym close to Anya’s school for $10 a month and even I can afford that! So I went today and yesterday and hope to give you an update every week. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by April and keep it off. Here’s my progress today!

A Healthy Me Update! Walking Progress

I’ve been steadily walking along and it’s been good both for my mind body and soul! It is absolutely gorgeous here and the weather for the most part has been sunny although cool. So here are my stats for the month of November:

  • Total Distance Walked- 37.8 Miles
  • Total Hours Walked 11:56
  • Total Calories Burned 3,249 

My longest distance in a day this month has been 6.82 miles

If you have even a 1/2 an hour I encourage you to get some fresh air it will do wonders for you!

My Healthy Me Walking Update

I’m going to make this quick, but here are my Walking Goal Updates for the past few months. My goal is 70 Miles this month so wish me luck! I got a little caught up in party planning and a bunch of other to do’s in October, so hopefully I’ll meet them! I must say, I don’t burn nearly the amount of calories I would in the gym on the treadmill, but the fresh air and beautiful fall scenery makes the gym so unappealing right now. Maybe I’ll feel differently in December! So far I’ve walked a total of 113.8 Miles! Yeah!!

November Update:
Walked 13.1 Miles (Includes Monday and Tuesday of this week)
Total of 4:32 Hours
Calories Burned 1,236

October Update: 
Walked 45.4 Miles
Total of 14:01 Hours
Calories Burned 3,813

September Update:
Walked 48.9 Miles
Total of 16:42 Hours

August Update:
Walked 6.4 Miles
Total of 2:12 Hours

This recharges my batteries!

Monday-6.13 Miles walked 513 Calories burned
Tuesday-6.43 Miles walked 532 Calories burned
Wednesday-5.01 Miles walked 434 Calories burned
Thursday-No walking had a picnic for Anya
Friday- 5.24 Miles 474 Calories Burned
Total Miles Walked 22.81 Miles and 1953 Calories Burned! Yeah Surpassed My Goal
Since October 1st I’ve walked 31.2 Miles and in September I walked 48.9 miles (I walked 12 times) for a total of 80.1 miles.

Goal Update on A Healthy Me

Good news! I met my walking goal last week and today I did a 6 mile walk! It was so refreshing starting out my week with this long walk. When I got home I had the energy to go grocery shopping (hit 2 different stores), get gas, clean my house, do 3 loads of laundry, and start dinner for Anya before I picked her up from school. So here’s my update!

Walking-Goal for this week is 16 miles
Monday-6.13 Miles walked 513 Calories burned
Weights- Goal is 100 Reps 4x This week
Sunday-100 Repetitions with arm weights
Monday-none
Crunches-100 Crunches 5x This week
Sunday-100 Crunches 
Monday-none
I also need to incorporate more stretching and working with the medicine ball.

As I mentioned in my blog from yesterday, I have goals that I want to start working more seriously towards achieving. One of those goals is a healthier me. I would like to drop some pounds, but more importantly be healthy so that I can take care of my daughter and do all those things God has in store for me. Here is my 1st update!

This is why I love walking, So gorgeous! I may burn more calories on the treadmill but it has nothing on the view!

My Simple Breakfast

I aim to keep mornings simple. This is a breakfast I have a couple days of week, that is easy, delicious and pretty filling. This works for me, especially during the school year, when I need some quick energy. You can also prepare this the night before and just add a few crackers in the morning.

Tuesday Night’s Dinner

This is another favorite meal of both mine and my daughters. I’m really glad she likes fish so I try to incorporate it more into our meals. This was Tilapia, sweet potatoes and I had cauliflower and broccoli and she had corn on the cob. It was really light and yummy and the longest part of the meal was baking the sweet potatoes, but I just started them earlier than the fish and it was fine. The veggies I just added a little olive oil and my French her seasoning. Delish!
