A Sweet Slumber Party for My Super Sweet 9 Year Old!

My sweet girl is 9! I really can’t believe that I’ve had this incredible blessing of a human being in my life for almost a decade! Words can never adequately express the depths of my love for Anya, she is my heartbeat and I’m so overwhelmingly grateful for her! This year we had a slumber party and since her birthday fell on President’s Day we had the sleepover on Sunday with 3 of her friends. We did spa treatments, made flower crowns, ate, watched movies and danced. It was a  great time had by all! Here are a few snapshots of the weekend.

I wrapped the chair with burlap and stuck a butterfly on it for a little whimsy :)

This is SO pretty! You did an amazing job. Very inspiring…such a great idea for celebrating her birthday :) Was it all pretty inexpensive to do? Did you already have many of the items on hand? As a fellow single mama I’m always trying to be a good steward of the money the Lord gave us!

      Hi Sara,
Thank you! It was actually fairly cheap because I’m on a serious budget right now. The banners were made out of scrapbook paper and doilies. The paper was about 49 cents a piece and 30 doilies were a $1.99. The burlap on the chairs I bought on discount around Christmas and was $3.99 and the butterflies were $1.50 a piece. The table decor I already had so no price there. The goody bags were 99 cents a piece and the emblems I pasted on were in a pack for a $1.50, the spa stuff such as the basins were a $1.00 a piece at the dollar store, the bowls I had and just hot glued a flower on it which came off easily, and the washcloths I bought were $4.99 and that box on the table was $2.99 from an antique store. The most expensive thing was the cake! It was $31.99. I did buy the girls nightgowns, a shirt ($12 for both) and monogrammed soap ($1.50) with a manicure set ($1.50) which was all on sale. I kept it to four girls including my daughter which really helped keep costs low.
