I totally have to give credit to Anya for this cool activity, so if you try it and like it give her a shout out! If you have a bunch of broken crayons like we do you can recycle them by creating a fun, colorful crayon mold! This is so easy!! Check it out:
Step 1: Peel the paper off the crayons and lie them aside. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
Step 2: Break some of the crayons into small pieces
Step 3: Place the crayons in a muffin tin or you can do molds which are really cool. I would get a smaller tin as you can see we would need to break up a lot of crayons to fill all 12 spaces. Have the kids arrange the crayons in the tin and pick the combination of colors they want to use.
Step 4: Place them in the oven at 250 degrees for about 20 minutes and let them cool for about 45 minutes to an hour it may not even take that long!
Step 5: Pop them out of the tin. They came out very easily, if you have a problem getting them out, put them in the freezer for about an hour and they should pop right out.
How cool are they!!! We plan on making more as Christmas presents for Anya’s friends!!
